HEALTH & SAFETY INFORMATION

NHS is currently reviewing changes in local, state and federal guidelines to update our health and safety protocols.
Our guidelines will continue to evolve and we will share updates regularly.

Your health and safety is our top priority. We are continuously reviewing the NHS health and safety guidelines in connection with all federal, health, and state recommendations and requirements. 
The guidelines outlined below continue to evolve and will be updated as necessary to help support a safe experience on-site. 

Face Coverings

Effective July 30, 2021, Nevada adopted the updated CDC Mask Guidance. At this time, in line with state and local regulations, all individuals are required to wear a face covering while attending NHS. We are monitoring this closely and will continue to adjust our face covering requirements to align with state, local, and venue requirements at the time of the event.

Increased Sanitization and Hygiene

Reed Exhibitions works with each venue to implement sanitization standards. It is the responsibility of everyone to maintain personal hygiene, including washing your hands frequently for at least 20 seconds with soap and warm water.

Directional and Distance Markings

Please follow all floor and distance markings and signage.

Follow All Signage and Direction from Staff

Operational adjustments may occur throughout the event in order to ensure the health and safety of all attendees. Please adhere to all signage and direction from all staff.

HEALTH & SAFETY ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Please ensure that you have reviewed any advisories or restrictions that may be in place for travel to the United States and for travel to Nevada. Visit https://nvhealthresponse.nv.gov/ for more information.

Please be advised that a risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any event or public space, including the National Hardware Show. Prior to purchasing a ticket for and attending the National Hardware Show, please ensure you have read the latest CDC Guidelines for Prevention. By attending the National Hardware Show, you acknowledge this inherent risk and, as a condition of entering the National Hardware Show, you acknowledge, understand and confirm each of the following in accordance with applicable health guidelines:

  • That you will abide by all National Hardware Show health-and-safety requirements;
  • That you are not currently experiencing any of the following symptoms of COVID-19, as identified at CDC.gov, including, but not limited to:
    • Fever or chills
    • Cough
    • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
    • Fatigue
    • Muscle or body aches
    • Headache
    • New loss of taste or smell
    • Sore throat
    • Congestion or runny nose
    • Nausea or vomiting
    • Diarrhea
  • That prior to attending the National Hardware Show you have not been in contact with someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 symptoms without completing a 14-day quarantine; and
  • That you are not under any self-quarantine orders

Please do not enter the National Hardware Show or the Las Vegas Convention Center if you cannot confirm all of the above criteria. If at any point during your time at the National Hardware Show you do not meet all of the above criteria, you will be required to isolate and may be relocated or asked to leave the Las Vegas Convention Center at the sole discretion of event management.

Please note: The guidelines in this document are based on information currently available regarding the behavior and characteristics of the COVID-19 virus, public health information and local or state guidelines with respect to large gatherings in any particular community. As more clarity with respect to these variables emerges, it is expected that these guidelines may need to be adjusted accordingly

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

No, at this time, the local state of Nevada and CDC guidelines do not require temperature screening. At this time, in line with state and local regulations, all individuals are required to wear a face covering while attending NHS. Management partners closely with all venues, local, state, and federal health authorities to maintain a robust operational plan designed to maximize the health and safety of everyone. These Include:

  • Strict sanitization and cleaning procedures
  • Hand sanitizing stations
  • Temperature screenings for all staff, attendees and exhibitors
  • Layout design and spaces that promote physical distancing
  • Exhibitor guidelines and booth design standards
  • Reduced contact transactions

Everyone is expected to fully comply with all health and safety guidelines. Acknowledging the guidelines and agreeing to comply is a requirement of entry (See the Health & Safety Acknowledgement above). The National Hardware Show will have specially designated Safety Stewards walking the show floor to ensure all guidelines are being followed. All violations of the guidelines will be addressed by Safety Stewards, security and/or event staff as soon as practicable following observation/notification of non-compliance. A Health & Safety Contact phone number will be clearly noted on signage throughout the National Hardware Show to allow for reporting of any concerns or issues.

The National Hardware Show has adopted several exhibitor best practices based on industry standards. By taking advantage of these recommendations, your organization will help ensure a safer experience for all attendees and customers. Please note that these recommendations may be revised and supplemented to ensure compliance with state, local and venue requirements. The Exhibitor Manual will be updated periodically to provide clear guidance on recommendations and requirements for Exhibitors.

  • Staffing Your Space: We recommend no more than (3) individuals per 100 sq. ft. of space
  • Space Layout & Design: Keep physical distancing in mind when creating your booth layout - maximize physical distance between exhibitor staff and visitors to the extent possible
  • Hand Sanitizer: Ensure availability of hand sanitizer at all booths
  • One-Way Traffic: For larger island and peninsula booths it is recommended to establish one-way traffic flow with marked entrances and exits
  • Throughput: Control the scale, size and timing of meetings or gatherings within your space; avoid creating crowds
  • Dividers: Include transparent dividers in areas where people will be in close contact
  • Reduce Contact: Consider touchless (electronic and digital) alternatives to engagement, collateral material and giveaways
  • Avoid Product Sampling
  • PPE: Account for PPE apparel (e.g., staff masks, shields, gloves, etc.)
  • Signage: Incorporate signage promoting health and safety best practices
  • Increased Cleaning: Plan for cleaning of spaces and surfaces throughout the day; regularly sanitize surfaces and items with appropriate 
  • Promotional Materials: Ensure promotional materials are individually packaged

SECURITY AT OUR SHOW

The safety and security of our staff, exhibitors and attendees is our priority. We work closely with the venue, corporate security, state, local and federal law enforcement authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for our events.

Everyone attending our events should be aware that the following are in place:

  • Security staff may approach you to assist outside, at entry or inside the event
  • Staff and attendees are required to wear ID badges provided
  • Security procedures are fully operational at our events
  • Bag checks are in operation at our events
  • Walkthrough or hand held scanners may be in operation at our events
  • CCTV in operation at our events is monitored and recorded
  • Uniformed and covert Security Guards are in attendance at our events
  • Uniformed and covert Police are in attendance at some of our events
  • Canine Security and Detection is in operation at some of our events

Everyone attending our events is requested to:

  • Keep personal property with you at all times and do not leave any items unattended
  • Report anything that looks unusual, suspicious or just out of place to a member of event staff
  • Remain patient and courteous with event staff undertaking security checks
  • Follow the instructions of event staff at all times
  • On their final visit to the event, dispose of their badge inside the event or when they’ve returned home, not in bins immediately outside the event
  • Carry a recognized form of photo ID with them at all times
