Get to Know the 2022 National Hardware Show Award Winners
At the 2022 edition, National Hardware Show exhibitors across categories were awarded for their ingenuity and innovation. Continue reading to see which products were recognized in the Top Tapped, Rising Star, VIP Choice and Family Handyman categories.
Top Tapped Award
Each product in the Made in USA and HABITAT feature areas were equipped with Konduko readers that attendees could tap with their badges to get more information. The Top Tapped award went to the five companies with the most taps on their Konduko readers during the Show.

Flame King specializes in making propane tanks and cylinders used daily across the globe. Each propane tank and cylinder meet or exceeds industry regulations for quality and is manufactured in facilities that have won awards for proactive safety practices and regulations.
Rising Star Awards
The Rising Star Awards were given to the top products selected by media attendees and celebrity guests in the HABITAT NEW and Made in USA areas of the Show floor.
HABITAT NEW: Root Quencher
Keeping trees and plants properly hydrated and fed cost-effectively has been a challenge for decades. VIP Choice Awards
The Channel Leaders Club (CLC) is an invitation-only program for buying executives covering all categories in the global DIY/home improvement industry with purchasing power above $5 million annually and represent at least seven stores. Members of CLC collectively voted on the winners of the coveted VIP Choice Awards.
Best New Product Display: Rhino Cart
The Rhino Cart is built to maneuver large, heavy objects around tight spaces and over rough terrain. Weighing only 8 pounds, it easily adjusts to fit items from 6" to 46". At NHS 2022, the Rhino Cart team showed the product in action as it transported large objects, like a washing machine.
Most Memorable Booth: True Organic

Gadgets, gizmos and great ideas! At the 2022 National Hardware Show, Inventor Lady’s booth displayed new products from 25 inventors. Some of the products included the Bota mail slot insulator, HangEm Straight Flag Pole and the Handy Hamper Helper.
Family Handyman Editor’s Choice Awards
The editors of Family Handyman—a DIY resource for projects, renovations, smart technology and more—voted on the winners of these awards. They looked for products that stand apart from the pack with regard to innovation, functionality and their ability to meet consumer needs.
Innovation Award: Timber Stoves
The makers of the Original Wood Pellet Patio Heater, Timber Stoves is committed to great craftsmanship. What’s innovative about Timber Stoves? They produce twice the amount of heat versus the standard outdoor propane heater and operate at half the cost. They also allow you to enjoy a roaring wood fire without all the smoke.
Functionality: Rhino Cart
Making them a two-time NHS 2022 Awards Winner, Family Handyman also enjoyed the Rhino Cart, the tool built to maneuver large heavy objects with ease. With a zero turning radius, Rhino Cart weighs only 8 pounds yet can easily move a 2,000-pound load. The Rhino Cart is a brand created by Midwest Innovative Products.
Consumer Needs: Canopy Breeze
