Product Vetting Program at National Hardware Show® Offers Feedback to Manufacturers

(NORWALK, Conn. April 23, 2014) — Manufacturers interested in discussing their products will have the opportunity to get feedback from a panel of buyers at the National Hardware Show®, which will be held May 6-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

As it has for the past few years, the National Hardware Show will host a product review and vetting process Tuesday, May 6, and Wednesday, May 7. The program allows manufacturers to distribute their products among some of the industry’s leading buyers and get feedback about how to best move these products into the marketplace.

“We started the product review and vetting process in 2012, and it was so successful that we continued it in following years,” says Rich Russo, vice president of the National Hardware Show. “It’s a great opportunity for manufacturers in get their products evaluated and get some feedback to help launch them in to the marketplace.”

Participating exhibitors can drop off samples of their products on Monday, May 5, in room N101. Staff will be on hand to man the room and pass along products for review and vetting. The review and vetting process will take place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 6 and 7.

All exhibitors who drop off product should pick up their product sample by noon on Thursday, May 8. Any products not picked up will be donated to Opportunity Village, a Las Vegas based non-profit organization that serves people with intellectual disabilities.

Participating buyers include SkyMall, Distribution America, PRO Group, Lancaster, Sears, Val-Test and Ace Hardware. And because the National Hardware Show brings so many industry players together under one roof, it’s an ideal place to host programs like product vetting.

“The product vetting program is a great opportunity for the PRO Group merchandising team to review new products for our member distributors and PRO hardware retailers,” says Brendan Sullivan, director of merchandising for PRO Group. “The time we save having these new items and vendors in a centralized location allows our team more time to work the Hardware Show floor and meet with existing manufacturer partners and prospective companies. PRO has supported this program since the very beginning, and we’re looking forward to another successful event.”
