National Hardware Show® Teams Up With NRHA to Offer Educational Opportunities

(NORWALK, Conn. April 16, 2014) — The National Hardware Show®, which will be held May 6-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), is the perfect location for retailers to network and take part in a variety of educational presentations, seminars and speakers.

These educational opportunities will be held throughout the show. The National Hardware Show has teamed up with the North American Retail Hardware Association (NRHA), which is co-hosting its NRHA All-Industry Conference, and to provide these speakers and seminars. Most presentations will be held on the NRHA Village Stage.

“NRHA is proud to be able to bring in a variety of knowledgeable experts to educate show attendees,” says Bill Lee, NRHA’s president and CEO. “We know our speakers will provide retailers with plenty of valuable information to help them make their businesses more successful.”

Tuesday, May 6:

9:15 am - 10:15 am
Keynote: Amazon and Beyond
Keynote Speaker: Mark Herbek, Senior Research Analyst with Cleveland Research Company

This seminar will explore the business habits and trends of one of the largest emerging retailers in the marketplace today: Amazon. Showcasing some of the Cleveland Research Company's proprietary research, Herbek will share his insights into a company that is experiencing exponential growth year over year. Herbek will translate what this data could mean for the home improvement industry and what the future could hold for Amazon, ecommerce, online shopping and more retail trends.

Navigating the Affordable Care Act and Health Care Reform
Speaker: Bob Chiesa, President, Custom Benefits Insurance Group, Inc.

A thorough analysis of the challenges employers are facing as a result of Affordable Care Act (ACA), including all the new employer mandates, taxes and fees. The recent change of requirements for companies based on the number of employees will be discussed in detail as well as three different and unique solutions to help employers offset some of the impact of ACA. This will include the presentation of the NRHA Health Care Program.

This presentation will cover the overall economic health of the country and the attitude of consumers and their potential for forming households and buying homes or renting apartments. The presentation will explore the elements that have caused the slow recovery, the slow dissolution of most of the hindrances, the headwinds that remain and the most likely outcome in home building and remodeling for the remainder of this year and next year.
