(NORWALK, Conn November 7) Lancaster Co., the nation's largest paint sundry distributor, has announced plans to co-locate its new National Paint Distributor Show with The National Hardware Show® in Las Vegas in May 2012.

Lancaster currently hosts three additional buying shows throughout the year to meet the needs of its retail customers. This fourth show will provide an ideal venue for the distributor's customers based in the western United States as well as its other customers throughout the world. "Co-locating with the National Hardware Show, for Lancaster's first buying show in the west, brings some exciting benefits to our mutual customer base," says Geff Lynch, Lancaster's senior vice president of sales and marketing. "Customers can now take advantage of the incredible wealth of information, promotions, and networking that both shows have to offer, with the added benefit of doing so in one trip. For paint retailers there has always been a void for promotional buys in the early summer, the Lancaster Trade Show at The National Hardware Show will open up a new buying opportunity for these dealers."

The National Hardware Show®, which takes place the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC), opens on May 1, 2012, and runs through May 3. The Lancaster buying show will be held at the Las Vegas Hilton, which adjoins the LVCC, and will open on May 2 and also run through May 3. The combination of these two events creates tremendous synergies for both manufacturers and retailers, according to Sonya Ruff-Jarvis, vice president of attendee programs with the National Hardware Show.

"We are thrilled that Lancaster has decided to co-locate its newly launched 4th National Paint Distributor Show with the National Hardware Show," says Ruff Jarvis. "We believe that this co-location is advantageous for both exhibitors and buyers leading to increased attendance and sales."

The co-location will offer paint retailers from around the world a chance to not only shop Lancaster's complete offering of products, and will also allow them to browse the range of products on display at the National Hardware Show and take advantage of all the unique educational opportunities and networking events held during the event.

Sales of paint and paint sundries have offered a bright spot in the home improvement sector, which has faced its share of challenges during the nation's economic downturn. This co-location of these two events will shine a spotlight on this product sector and add even more value for retailers looking for products and ideas to spur sales.

With the co-location of the Lancaster National Paint Distributor Show, the National Hardware Show is now undoubtedly one of the premiere events for the paint industry and a must-attend opportunity for retailers across all channels selling paint and paint sundries.

In addition to Lancaster, other industry-leading paint and sundry brands who exhibit at the National Hardware Show include 3M, Dynamic Paint Products, Linzer/American Brush, Kelly-Moore Paint Company, Shurtech Brands, UGL and more.

"The paint category continues to be a category leader despite the economic climate and we look forward to working with Lancaster in creating a comprehensive paint show for all retail channels selling paint," adds Ruff-Jarvis.

Currently, the National Hardware Show has already sold 80 percent of the booth space available for the event, a good indicator that the 2012 is on track to be one of the most successful this decade.
