Home Improvement Comes Alive At Day One of The National Hardware Show®

Industry’s Leading Event Highlights the Latest in Home Improvement and Beyond!

LAS VEGAS, May 8, 2019—The National Hardware Show® started on a high note as thousands of attendees, exhibitors and media gathered at the Las Vegas Convention Center to experience this year’s hardware and home improvement extravaganza. The 2019 Show had an exciting start and will have a jam-packed run through May 9 with key speakers and events, new interactive experiences, sections, featured product displays and more!

“Day One was a phenomenal start for the 2019 Show! It’s great seeing exhibitors and attendees experience everything the Show has to offer,” says Rich Russo, Industry Vice President of the National Hardware Show. “Everywhere you turn there are new, unique, products, interactive experiences, educational sessions and more, and we can’t wait for what’s still to come!”

New Experiences, Destinations and Sections 
The 2019 Show is teeming with new interactive experiences, destinations and sections. Attendees have access to a variety of unique areas and educational sessions throughout the duration of the Show including:

  • NRHA All-Industry Conference: The NRHA All-Industry Conference began this morning with a special keynote from John Hartmann, President and CEO, True Value Co. Hartmann’s keynote entitled “Unlocking True Value” took place immediately following the NHS opening ceremony on the NRHA Stage and addressed how returning the majority of its members’ equity has offered retailers the opportunity to invest in their business as they know best, as well as how a new company structure has enabled True Value to accelerate strategic investments without cutting into retailers’ profits.  
  • CCCME Opening Ceremony: The China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products (CCCME) also gathered for its opening ceremony this morning at 10:00 a.m. in booth #849.
  • Inventors Spotlight: New products, ideas and innovation continue propel the home improvement industry. The National Hardware Show offers a specific section, the Inventors Spotlight, giving an inside look at what may be the next big thing, product, or service to revolutionize the home improvement industry. This section offers inventors the opportunity to meet with buyers and potential investors to get feedback on their products.
  • Media Hub: Bright and early this morning, NHS hosted a Satellite Media Tour with Design Expert Kelly Edwards from the Media Hub located in the Central Hall, booth #2636. The tour highlighted a variety of hot products from brands including 3M, Trager SnowJoe, Maglite and Westinghouse! The excitement will continue tomorrow as The Money Pit and On The House with The Carey Brothers are slated to broadcast tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. respectively.


Featured Product Displays 
This year, attendees can see the newest products and trends from exhibitors across various categories in NHS’ Featured Product Displays. As the industry’s most expansive Show, these displays are a one-stop-shop for any buyer or attendee and include:

  • Interactive Smart Home: The brand-new Interactive Smart Home at NHS is officially on the market! Attendees can experience first-hand some of the most-talked about products in the Smart Home category. The structured house in Central Hall, offers a plethora of information about the featured products through dedicated visuals and demonstrations, creating a realistic and interactive experience in the environment the products were designed for. 
  • New Product World: In New Product World, attendees are discovering the newest innovations, products released in the last 12 months and trends across all product categories. New Product World displays are located in both the Central and North Halls. Winners (in each category) for the NHS Awards program, which are selected by Channel Leaders (VIP Buyers) as well as Press/Media, will be announced Wednesday, May 8 starting at 2:45 p.m. on the NRHA Village Stage located in the Central Lobby. 
  • Tiny Living @ NHS: Designed specifically for professionals in the small living, modular and manufactured housing industries, Tiny Living @ NHS is the place to discover companies that specialize in products and services for this growing segment of the industry. Those companies – which are situated within the current NHS Show Floor product categories –focus on tiny living needs and trends.
  • The Backyard Marketplace: Located in the Tailgate, Backyard & BBQ section of the Show, the Backyard Marketplace is be a must-see destination to relax and reenergize, while celebrating favorite and beloved outdoor living brands. This area is equipped with shade, a hydration station, food, music, entertainment and featured brands with products that are leaders in the outdoor lifestyle category.
