(NORWALK, Conn. March 14, 2013) - New products create excitement and keep the home improvement industry moving forward. There will be no shortage of new products, programs and exhibits on hand at the 2013 National Hardware Show®, which will be held May 7-9 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC).

With a number of expanded and enhanced categories, this year's National Hardware Show offers a great opportunity for attendees to see the entire range of new products showcased under one roof and gives exhibitors the ideal setting to showcase their offerings to a global audience of buyers.

"I travel to the National Hardware Show to see what's new and trending in the industry," says T.J. Comstock, owner of Northwest Hardware, in Billings, Mont. "The vendors bring their latest products, and it's fun to see what the companies are coming out with. By seeing the latest trends in the market, we're able to anticipate the changes in our customers' wants and can buy accordingly."

A SOURCE FOR INNOVATION

While there will be thousands of new products from across all the home improvement categories on display throughout the show floor, one of the best places for attendees to find the latest and greatest items to hit the market is at the Innovation Station.

The Innovation Station is a one-stop shop for attendees who want to see products that are brand-new to the industry and features items from across categories and from manufacturers of all sizes.

"We've attended the show several times over the past six years," says Dennis J. Doyle of Ginn-Wilson, Inc. in St. Louis, Mo. "We enjoy meeting vendors and seeing the new items they have to offer."

This year, the Innovation Station will include New Product World, Inventor's Spotlight and environmental friendly products, adjacent to the main lobby of the Central Hall, making it closer to the show floor and offering easy access for attendees to browse.

"We introduced the Innovation Station concept at last year's show and it was a big hit with attendees," says Sonya Ruff Jarvis, vice president of attendee programs with the National Hardware Show. "It really provides attendees with a quick way to see a broad range of new items, and it also allows exhibitors to really highlight their latest innovations."

Along with the return of the Innovation Station, this year's National Hardware Show will feature several other new and enhanced product areas, as well as a number of new programs.

NEW, EXPANDED & ENHANCED PRODUCT CATEGORIES

Farm & Ranch
The Farm & Ranch category has emerged as a growth category for retailers, distributors and manufacturers over the past few years. For the first time ever, this category, which will be set up alongside Pet Products, will have a combined dedicated area of 20,000 square feet on the show floor. Just some of the premiere exhibitors that will be exhibiting in this area include: Hengjin Electron Co., Ltd., MaxPower Precision Parts, Solo Inc., The Cordage Source and more.

"Farm & Ranch and Pet Products are two categories that continue make significant impacts on sales in the home improvement market, and the National Hardware Show makes it easy for attendees to see all the categories' potential in one convenient area," says Ruff Jarvis. "We have a group of vendors lined up that we know attendees will love."

The inclusion of a complete area for Farm & Ranch products is a welcome addition for exhibitors like Scottie Smith of Tarter Farm and Ranch Equipment in Dunnville, Ky.

"The National Hardware Show enables us to extend our global reach much easier by having such a vast array of potential customers all under one roof," says Smith. "Booth traffic should be good for us by being an important part of the NHS Farm and Ranch area for the first time. A large number of companies are either looking to expand their Farm and Ranch departments, while others are looking to enter the business for the first time. We will have something for all, regardless of their needs."

Pet Products
Like the Farm & Ranch category, pet products have emerged as a major growth opportunity for the industry. Reflecting this trend, Pet Products will have an enhanced presence at this year's National Hardware Show.

Building Products
Building Products will also make its return to 2013 National Hardware Show-a clear reflection of the growing strength of the nation's housing market.

Outdoors, Tailgate & Recreation
Over the past several years, the tailgating area at the National Hardware Show has attracted some of the strongest traffic. This is testament to the excitement generated by the exhibitors in this section but also to the growth of the category.

In 2013, the tailgating area has been enhanced to encompass even more outdoor lifestyle products and renamed the Outdoors, Tailgate and Recreation area.
